Post Extract – how to keep images

Hi David,
For my clients I used the ‘Blog Posts’ (‘Page Builder’ option) on pages to create lists of posts in specific categories. Originally they wished to see the full contents of all the posts in the loop so I modified the file ‘/wp-content/themes/hotec/templates/loop/loop-post.php’ to this effect. That worked well. As they have some very long posts they now wish to see only the excerpt. However, that also filters out the images and that they do not want! It is considered more ‘catchy’ to show the image even when tekst is excerpted. Do you have any suggestion how to achieve this? Thanks beforehand.
