Homepage ranking issue?

  Hi there,
  I was after some advice.
  I’m using the magazon theme and so far have 30+ articles published since I created the site in January.
  The articles on the inner pages are all coming into Google and ranking at around page 3+/-
  However, I cannot seem to get the homepage to rank for anything?
  I work to the same basic principles SEO wise on the hompage as I have on the inners but nothing seems to be happening?
  I also use Yoast SEO and after setting the SEO title for the homepage, what appears in Google is slightly different. The name of my site is inserted with a : in front of my chosen SEO title? I can’t see what is causing this.
  Is there anything with the Magazon theme that I might be missing that is potentially having an effect on either issue here?
