Help with crashing updates

  Hi,

  Every time I try and update through wordpress while in the theme, the entire site crashes. I currently have 17 pending updates on the site but I’m scared to try updating again!

  Also, is there any way to widen the boxed area on the page? I’m looking to widen it almost to screen width with only a small background area around the active part of the site.
